WHERE I SEE MYSELF IN 10 YEARS...

Where do I see myself in 10 years you ask? I will either have gone 3 steps forward or 6 steps back... This is a question I've constantly been asked throughout high school and something I still get asked today. It's a hard question to answer honestly, but it is something that I've considered over and over again. To be completely honest I'm not sure where I see myself 10 years from now; is anyone anyone ever certain where they see themselves? I can tell you about my personal goals and other aspirations, but there is no guarantee that these aspirations or goals will even come true.

Some of my personal goals in life are to be happy, financially successful, and well rounded in other cultural aspects of the world. I want to get out and travel and enjoy what the world has to offer us. I am aspiring to be a general manger for a hotel chain such as Hyatt Hotels, Hilton, or even The W. Yes, the aspiration is vague but it has been one of my passions since before I can even remember.

When I look 10 years ahead I see myself in the year 2027 at age 30. I imagine myself in a nice house with a well paying managerial hotel job that is suitable for both spontaneous traveling and the adventurous lifestyle I intend to lead.

I imagine my career to be something in the hospitality industry. More specifically a general manager who is engaged in meeting new people and bringing new ideas to the company in order to effectively run his staff and the hotel chain which he manages. Doing this job career wise relates to my life because it allows me to satisfy my passion to provide others with a positive experience and be optimistic and engaged. It not only allows me to do those things, but it opens up a doorway for socializing and networking which I feel are key elements as you grow older. The idea for this career path stemmed from my childhood upbringing and admiration for my father. Growing up he was always working finding ways to better himself as well as keep his family happy. The amount of dedication and hard work I saw him put forth day in and day out made me realize that was what I dreamed to do when I got older.

As cliche as it may sound, I aspire to follow in my fathers footsteps and be an educated, hardworking, determined man who is passionate in everything he does and can enjoy life for what it truly is.
